Energy Ministry: Meeting held to discuss end of contract of ‘Prime South’ company operating Deir Ammar, Zahrani plants

NNA – In an issued statement by the Ministry of Energy and Water on Sunday, it indicated that a meeting was held yesterday evening, called for by Caretaker Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, and attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Caretaker Minister of Defense, Zeina Akar, and Caretaker Ministers of Energy and Water, Raymond Ghajar, and Finance, Ghazi Wazni, alongside Central Bank Governor Riyad Salameh, to discuss the end of contract of the “Prime South” company operating both the Deir Ammar and Zahrani electricity plants on Monday, February 15th.

Following discussions, it was agreed that the “Electricity of Lebanon” company would send a request to the Lebanese Central Bank, which in turn would consider the request positively and present it during the first meeting by the Central Council, in order to 'take the appropriate decision according to the available capabilities.”

Meanwhile, Caretaker PM Diab and Energy Minister Ghajar also contacted the “Prime South” company’s concerned officials, who confirmed the continuation of its work operations.
