5 style tips for your workout

Did you know that the way you dress for your exercise routine can impact your overall mood and energy?

We all know that fitness is an important part of our lives - but do we ever stop to think about whether dressing up for it is equally vital? According to fitness enthusiasts - and my own experience points towards this fact - dressing up for a workout can make a huge impact on your overall mood and energy at the gym. Here are some suggestions to help you push and keep your energy levels up.

. Not too baggy: Picking out clothes that are comfy - but at the same time, it's important to wear clothes that are not too loose or ill-fitting. Eventually, you should be able to see the progress your body is making - it's a great incentive to work harder - and loose clothing makes it hard to gauge.

. Colour your workout: Add colours to your gym wardrobe that lift your mood and make those gym blues fade away.

. Think about accessories: Shopping for accessories can actually make you feel more committed to your exercise routine. The process of buying the perfect bottle to picking out that comfortable pair of running shoes adds commitment to your goal.

. Get smart: I am a huge fan of technology and, today, you can get some great products to help track your progress. Some of my favourites are the Apple Watch Nike + series 3, the Fitbit Flex 2 and the Hidrate Spark Smart water bottle (it tracks your water intake and glows to remind you to drink water throughout the day). You can even sync this water bottle to your Apple Watch or Fitbit. Some of my other favourite brand for the gym are Target, Gymshark, Lululemon and Under Armour.

. Personalise it: Try making your own funky T-shirts, printed with inspirational or fun quotes that life your mood. You can also choose gym outfits from your favourite brand and have the numbers one to seven printed on them to represent each day of the week. That might keep you more committed to hitting the gym every day. Plus, you don't have to spend time wondering what to wear on which day and it makes quite the statement too.
The biggest secret to looking your best self is to have a fit body. If you are healthy and in shape, you can wear just about anything, and experiment, and it will look good. So, if you are planning on starting a new health regiment or routine, you might want to hit the mall for some shopping first!
