NNA - On the eve of Independence Day, 'Strong Lebanon' bloc head, Minister Gebran Bassil, signed a draft law to amend some articles in the law regulating entry, residence and departure from Lebanon, issued on July 10, 1962, and amended in accordance with Law #173 dated 14/2/2000.

Minister Bassil's announcement on Wednesday came during a press conference at the Conference's Center in Sin El-Fil, attended by Caretaker Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Pierre Raffoul, and bloc MPs.

Speaking at the press conference, Minister Bassil said the announcement of the draft law came on the eve of Lebanon's Independence Day due to its association with the Lebanese national sovereignty and its integrity.

The Minister said this law is sovereign in its nature and promotes national independence and sovereignty, enjoying human aspects that are very important and respectful of human rights.

Bassil said this law guarantees the rights of foreigners either visiting or working in Lebanon, and preserves the rights of the Lebanese citizens.
