Qatar Airways recognised for ‘outstanding achievements’ at Lebanon awards event

Qatar Airways has been recognised for its “outstanding achievements” at the Luxury Network International Awards ceremony at the Hilton Beirut Habtoor Grand Hotel, Lebanon on Monday.
The event was organised by the world’s leading luxury affinity marketing group, The Luxury Network, in co-operation with CAEL (Contribution Appreciation to Embassies in Lebanon) and under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Saad Hariri.
It was attended by Qatar’s ambassador to Lebanon, Ali bin Hamad al-Marri; Hamad International Airport vice president (Commercial and Marketing) Abdulaziz al-Mass, and Hamad Port project executive director, Jassim al-Shirawi among other dignitaries.
During the awards ceremony, which was designed to support tourism, investment and the economy in Lebanon, al-Marri was honoured for the “achievements of the State of Qatar in Lebanon”, including Qatar’s contribution to a number of development and reconstruction projects in Lebanon.
Al-Marri presented the airline with an award on its “achievements and the tremendous role” the award-winning airline has played in the growth of the Qatari economy and in making new global partnerships. The award was received by al-Mass. The ambassador also honoured and commended Hamad Port for its achievements during the ceremony.
During the awards ceremony, a documentary video was also shown to guests highlighting Qatar Airways’ key achievements.
Al-Marri said, “It’s my honour to participate in this event, which recognises the State of Qatar and showcases its achievements and contributions. That includes Qatar Airways, which is a world leader in terms of offering comfort, luxury and safety for civil aviation, and affirms the airlines’ ability to innovate in different fields.”
HIA chief operating officer Badr Mohamed al-Meer said, “This award and recognition is a true achievement for the Qatar Airways Group. Our team is proudly serving millions of people around the world on board our award-winning national carrier and at our five star hub, Hamad International Airport.
“Our commitment is to continue providing the people of Lebanon, a country which we have been serving for more than 20 years, with the best travel experience to the hundreds of destinations that we fly to”.
Qatar Airways has a long history in Lebanon, and has been operating flights to Beirut since the airline began its operations more than 20 years ago.
The airline currently operates four daily flights to Lebanon’s capital city of Beirut. The airline also shares a codeshare agreement with Lebanon’s national carrier, Middle East Airlines.
