Jarrah says optical fiber service launched, pledges fastest internet in Lebanon

Telecoms Minister, Jamal Al-Jarrah, affirmed on Monday that telecommunications in Lebanon would witness a huge leap in terms of quality and speed in line with the implementation of the optical fiber project, which will provide the fastest internet in Lebanon.

The Minister's words came during a ceremony held in his honor by businessman Mohammad Merhi in the town of Madoukha.

'The Ministry of Telecoms has been working on the purchase of the most advanced equipment for the Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) -- Aerial Telephones. 68 out of 72 towers have been installed,' Jarrah said, confirming faster internet in Lebanon by the end of the installation process of the Optical Fiber system.

The Minister added that the Optical Fiber project would be officially launched on the 13th of February 2018 at the Grand Serail under the patronage of Prime Minister, Saad Hariri.

'This is considered the largest project in Lebanon and will include the entire Lebanese territories,' he added.
