Tourism Minister says 2018 promising year for Lebanon's tourism

Dec 27

Tourism Minister, Avedis Guidanian, said on Tuesday that the year 2018 would be a promising year at the level of tourism, especially after the conclusion of agreements with international companies, which preferred Lebanon to Canada to hold their conferences.

'Representatives will come early next year to Lebanon to make the necessary preparations for these conferences,' the Minister told the voice of Lebanon radio station.

The Minster went on to say that the occupancy rate of hotels during the holiday week has reached 65 percent.

'This is a very good figure looking at the grave political crisis which Lebanon experienced a month ago,' the Minister added.

'The year 2017 was the best second year since 1951 in terms of the number of tourists which approached two million,' the Minister said.
